Farmacy, Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm Review

I’m 37 now {gasp!}, but thankfully, I’m constantly getting mistaken for being at least 10 years younger… YAY!

I love trying out new firming facial products, to find the best of the best, to keep me looking younger than I am! There is such a variety of products, with an array of benefits… no skincare is created equal! Just like it’s suggested to switch up your workout routine, to work the muscles out differently… I think switching up my skincare regimen about every 3 to 4 months, revitalizes my skin, keeping it from looking dull and tired.

Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm has a retail value of $48. I discovered this product because it arrived in my April 2016 PopSugar Must Have Box.

It is lightweight and transforms into a gentle oil gel, to replenish skin overnight. The problem I have, is that this gel does not absorb into my skin. Even in the morning, there’s a layer of gel,… and I’m using a nickel sized amount, which is the same amount I use with any other overnight firming skin product. Also, unlike the cream versions, I didn’t get that slight tightening of the skin feeling… so I didn’t feel like it was working.

The packaging of this product is super adorable and the brand name is quite clever,… but sadly I would not buy this product.

I give this product 2 paws.

Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Wipes Review

I bought this 30-count pack of facial wipes at Target for $5.99.

The detoxifying charcoal formula claims to help remove dirt and impurities. They do give me that deep clean feeling, like an exfoliant… and it has a fantastic fresh scent.

What I don’t like about these charcoal facial wipes… is that they are black… so I’m unable to see where the mascara and eye liner is, that I’ve wiped from my eyes… because those are black too! I get it… “little black wipe”… cute marketing… but sadly I risk putting my removed make-up all over my face if I can’t see it on the wipe!

I’m not sure if the wipe has to be black, because of the charcoal properties… but I will not be buying this product again, solely because of that. If you use a make-up remover prior to a facial wipe… then give this product a try… you’ll probably love it!

I give these charcoal wipes 2 paws.

Spongelle Spongology Milk & Honey Body Wash Infused Body Buffer Review

I got this from the May 2016 PopSugar Must Have Box.  The suggested retail is $20.

This body wash-infused body buffer by Spongelle, designed to cleanse, exfoliate and massage… was supposed to last at least 20 washes… but I didn’t even get 10 out of it!

I really do love the concept of this item… but less than 10 washes is not worth $20 to me! I can get an amazing body wash and bath loofah or sponge for HALF that price! Plus, I did not like the milk & honey scent… at all. It’s such a minimal scent, and I prefer a fresh & fruity variety that lingers on my skin long after my shower. I won’t be buying this product in the future.

I give this product 1 paw.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Duo, Water Gel & Eye Gel-Cream Review

Hydrated skin,… is happy skin!

I bought this duo at my favorite go-to place for beauty products… CVS! I will typically use CVS store promo coupons to get the best deal, but at full price, the 1.7 oz water gel is $19.99 and the 0.5 oz eye gel-cream is $19.99.

I don’t like to go the cheap route when it comes to my face & eye creams… because taking care of your skin by staying moisturized and protecting it from the suns harmful rays are key to looking younger than you are!!  I’d say these are medium-low in price, because there are definitely some pricier options out there… especially if you are considering the high end beauty brands at department stores!

“The unique water gel formula absorbs quickly, like a gel, but has the long-lasting, intense moisturizing power of a cream.”

I would absolutely buy this Hydro Boost duo again!  It’s oil-free & lightweight… and quenches my thirsty skin, by locking in the hydration all day long.

I give this duo 4 paws!

Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Makeup Removing Wipes Review

I think they named these make-up removing wipes “positively radiant”… because that’s   how I feel after using them!

I use a facial wipe every day, to remove oil, dirt and eye make-up… and these work perfectly! They easily remove my blackest black mascara and eye liner and the moisture-rich soy extract leaves my skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Visibly, my skin looks brighter…. and I can’t leave out the fact that these smell SO incredibly good! I’ve racked my brain over what the scent of these are… and the best I can come up with, is a fresh, natural, clean scent. It’s crazy that I can’t describe it better than that, but I can’t even find the scent info on Aveeno’s website! It must be top secret LOL. Just trust me… it’s the perfect scent for a facial wipe!

I bought these at CVS with a facial care promo coupon, so I’m not sure exactly how much I paid… but they are typically $5.49 per 25 count pack.

I would definitely buy these again!

Burt’s Bees Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleansing Towelettes Review

image

I bought this 30-count pack of 99.1% natural Burt’s Bees Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleansing Towelettes for $5.79 from Target.

The first facial wipes I ever tried were the pink grapefruit fragrance in another brand… and I was hooked!!  It’s such an invigorating scent. Formulated for normal to oily skin, and gentle enough to use every day… which is great, because sometimes I use 2 a day… one in the morning and one before I go to bed!  These leave my skin feeling clean and refreshed… AND remove my waterproof eye make-up incredibly easy!  PLUS, there are no parabens, phthalates or petrolatum (chemical preservatives that are harmful to your skin)!

In under a minute, I wipe the towelette all over my face and I’m feeling totally refreshed… with no need to rinse!!  I’m obsessed with that part!

I give this product 4 paws!

Ipsy Subscription Review

Does a girl really NEED 12 new cosmetic bags a year?!

An old coworker was raving to me about this monthly subscription… and of course I’d heard of it… but never tried it because for the last year and a half I’ve been getting the monthly Birchbox subscription.

I decided to cancel my Birchbox subscription after 2 years, so I signed up for the Ipsy glam bag… after I was enticed with a bonus mascara for signing up LOL. I’m such a sucker for a freebie!!  I cancelled the Ipsy glam bag subscription after only 6 months… and here’s why:

  • I only liked 50% of the bags… I thought the January, March an April bags were hideous and so I gave them away.
  • There is no ‘how-to’ info card, to explain the products… or how to use them.  This was a big deal to me… because the extent of my make-up knowledge is mascara, eye-liner and lipstick.  I don’t experiment or do anything crazy with my make-up regimen… but I might if the glam bag included an info card like the Birchbox… or a how-to guide with tips… like I’ve heard the new Sephora Play subscription includes.

January 2016 glam bag:

February 2016 glam  bag:

March 2016 glam bag:

April 2016 glam bag:

May 2016 glam bag:

June 2016 glam bag:

The February and June bags are pretty adorable… and my favorite of the 6 bags!

I liked about 80% of the beauty products I received in the glam bags… which is an okay percentage.  I paid $10 a month, which isn’t bad to discover new beauty products… and some are full size!  A lot of great beauty brands included also…  I just wish there were tips on how to use the items in the glam bag.

I give this monthly subscription 3 paws.

Burt’s Bees Peach & Willow Bark Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Towelettes Review

image

I have already re-bought these Burt’s Bees exfoliating facial cleansing towelettes… before I even had time to review it for you!

I paid $5.99 for the Peach & Willow Bark 25-ct pack at one of my favorite places on earth…Target, LOL.

As you know, I love pre-moistened facial wipes because they are easy, quick and efficient… so for a non-morning person… this is PERFECT!  These exfoliate the skin, while removing dirt, oil and make-up… with no need to rinse.  It easily removes my blackest mascara and eye liner with one swipe!  The willow bark, exfoliates with salicylic acid and can be used on normal to dry skin.  The peach scent is fresh & fruity… and I am slightly obsessed with it.

99.2% natural and dermatologist tested, these contain no parabens, phthalates or petrolatum… which are all chemicals that are super harmful to our skin and body!

These disposable wipes can be used anytime, anywhere… so they are perfect to take on the go!

I love the Burt’s Bees product line and what the company stands for… so it’s no surprise to me that these towelettes are amazing.

Victoria’s Secret Ultra-Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner Review

image

I am SUCH a sucker for a free tote offer!!

I purchased these and several other beauty products to get an amazing purple leopard tote LOL!  No regrets.  The tote is amazing LOL …and so are all the beauty products I bought, including this VS Ultra-Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner duo for $10 each 10.1 fl oz bottle!

They are $14 each at full price, but if you know Victoria’s Secret… then you know they always have bundle specials with their beauty products.

It’s hard to describe the scent… but it’s very girly and floral… almost like a perfume for your hair, but not too strong… I love it!

The shampoo cleans my hair to perfection and the conditioner leaves it feeling SO luxurious and soft!

I would definitely purchase & pamper my hair with these again.

Clear Scalp & Hair Strong Lengths Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner Review

image

Got weak hair that is prone to breakage?… then Clear Scalp & Hair Strong Lengths Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner is the duo for you!

I bought the 12.9 oz bottle of shampoo for $4.39 and the 12.7 oz bottle of conditioner for $5.49, both on Amazon.com via their “Prime Pantry” service.

This formula claims to “help restore the scalp’s natural moisture balance…  formulated with Nutrium 10, an advanced moisture complex of vitamins & nutrients including vitamins B5, C and E, sunflower, almond, soybean and coconut oils and aloe vera”.

I’ve never had a problem with weak hair… until I went through a very stressful time in my life last year… which resulted in a scary amount of my hair breaking/ falling out.  Maybe I’m managing my stress better… or maybe it’s the shampoo & conditioner duo… I’m not sure… but my hair has been quickly growing back & staying strong!

The one issue Clear Scalp & Hair hasn’t seemed to fix… split ends!!  Even with regular hair cuts, I still get SO many!  I wash my hair about every other day, to let my body repair my hair with my own natural oils… and still… split ends.  I don’t color my hair and I very rarely use hot styling tools.  I do however love to twirl my hair… and have since I was about 2 years old, and would suck my thumb while doing so LOL.  Maybe the hair twirling is the issue…

I’ve been reading up on hair oils & treatments to remedy split ends… so I’ll be trying some out & sharing my reviews soon!

I give this product 3 paws.
